SURALLAH, South Cotabato — The South Cotabato State College (SCSC) met with representatives from the Municipal Engineering Department and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Surallah on October 22, 2026, to discuss possible solutions to recurring flooding within the College grounds during rainfall.
The meeting focused on identifying potential measures to address the flooding problem, including the possible construction of drainage canals to improve water flow and prevent water accumulation on campus.
Following the discussion, the visiting personnel conducted an ocular inspection of the affected areas within the SCSC campus and surrounding areas outside the school premises to assess the site conditions and identify possible locations for canal construction. Representing the Municipal Engineering Department were Engr. Raden E. Diaz and Engr. Elmer Limpiado, while Leonardo B. Ballon represented the MDRRMO.
The initiative underscores the importance of coordination between SCSC and the LGU of Surallah in addressing campus flooding and exploring appropriate infrastructure solutions to help improve drainage and ensure a safer environment for the College community.
