KABACAN, Cotabato โ€” South Cotabato State College (SCSC) sent its SCSCโ€“MINSUPALA researchers, headed by Dr. Dexter C. Necor, Director of the Research and Publication Office, to the MINSUPALAโ€“IRDC Capacity-Building Training-Workshop held on October 19โ€“22, 2026, at Park-Lay Suites, Kidapawan City.

The four-day training-workshop strengthened participantsโ€™ competencies in product development, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and science communication through technical discussions and hands-on activities. Sessions covered proper product packaging and labelling, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory requirements, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and the preparation of evidence-based policy briefs.

Participants also visited five research and development facilities at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan: the High Value Crops Processing Center, Cacao Post-Harvest Processing Center and Food Processing Laboratory, Science and Technology Building, Regional Yarn Production and Innovation Center (RYPIC), and Biotechnology Unit. The visits provided valuable insights into research facilities and their applications in product development, processing, and innovation.

Through this initiative, SCSC continues to strengthen its research capabilities, foster institutional collaboration, and promote the application of scientific knowledge to support innovation and evidence-based policymaking.
