SCSC Tourism Students Join Kick-Off of South Cotabato Tourism Month Celebration 2026

KORONADAL CITY — Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students from South Cotabato State College (SCSC) actively participated in the grand kick-off program of Tourism Month 2026 on September 23, 2026, at the KCC Event Center, Koronadal City.

The participating delegation was guided by Mr. Genemar G. Mortera, BSTM Program Chair, along with Mr. Clint Jazz Imperial, IBEM Instructor, ensuring strong student representation and academic engagement in the provincial event.

Organized by the Tourism and Hospitality Educators Association of South Cotabato (THEA-SC) in cooperation with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, the event launched a week-long series of activities designed to showcase regional culture, student skills, and local tourism growth.

The launch featured key student competitions, including a Booth-Making Contest and an Infographics Showcase, alongside the official presentation of candidates for Lakambini ng Turismo 2026. Two BSTM students from SCSC are representing the institution in the pageant.

During the program, Board Member Hon. Alicia Nicole Causing-Labordo, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, delivered a message of support, reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to youth development and tourism initiatives. Further messages of solidarity were extended by representatives from the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Provincial Tourism Office of South Cotabato, led by Mr. Francisco Cerbo Jr.

The Tourism Month 2026 celebration will continue with various regional events before concluding during its formal culmination program on September 28, 2026.
