SURALLAH, South Cotabato โ€” South Cotabato State College (SCSC), Provincial Training Center (PTC) Surallah, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Surallah formalized their tripartite partnership for the implementation of the Diploma in Agricultural Technology (DAT) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held on August 18, 2026, at the SCSC campus in Barangay Dajay, Surallah.

The partnership provides an educational pathway that will allow qualified students to pursue the three-year Diploma in Agricultural Technology with financial support from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Under the partnership arrangement, TESDA will finance the studentsโ€™ education and training for the three-year diploma program. Students who choose to continue their studies for an additional year will receive financial support from the LGU of Surallah, enabling them to complete the required additional year toward a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Agriculture.

SCSC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Joebert C. Legreso delivered the welcome address, while Director for Instruction Hope P. Esparagosa presented an overview of the partnership.

SCSC President Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes emphasized the importance of the collaboration in expanding access to agricultural education and providing students with opportunities to develop competencies relevant to the needs of the agricultural sector.

PTC Surallah Administrator Pamela Lyn B. Casa delivered the message of acceptance, while TESDA XII Regional Director Dr. Remeagias G. Timonio, represented by Provincial Director Dr. Noralaine Rogong-Rasul, delivered a message of support for the initiative. Surallah Municipal Mayor Pedro M. Matinong Jr. likewise expressed the LGUโ€™s commitment to the partnership, particularly in supporting students who opt to pursue the additional year leading to a bachelorโ€™s degree.

The ceremony culminated in the formal signing of the MOA among SCSC, PTC Surallah, and LGU Surallah, followed by photo documentation with the participating officials and guests.

The tripartite partnership establishes a collaborative pathway that combines technical and higher education, government funding, and local support to provide students with greater opportunities to pursue agricultural education and prepare for careers in the agricultural sector.
