SCSC, Philippine Air Force Strengthen Collaboration for ROTC Implementation Through Campus Security Assessment

SURALLAH, South Cotabato — On July 3, 2026, South Cotabato State College (SCSC), in partnership with the Philippine Air Force (PAF), took a significant step toward the structured implementation of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program through the conduct of a comprehensive Security Survey and Investigation (SSI) on campus.

The PAF delegation, composed of Msg. Jose Rannie N. Manggas, PAF, Sgt. Major of the 7th ARCEN, and KS. Ticaro, PAF, began the visit with a courtesy call on SCSC President Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes. The meeting highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Philippine Air Force in preparation for the future rollout of the ROTC program.

Following the courtesy call, the PAF team carried out a series of security assessments, administrative briefings, and inspections of campus facilities to evaluate the institution’s readiness and ensure compliance with security and operational requirements.

The activity was conducted with the full support of the SCSC National Service Training Program (NSTP) Office, led by NSTP Director Ronnie T. Galera, PhD, ROTC Coordinator Walden C. Aseral, MEd, and GSO Desiderio S. Franco Jr., MEd, who assisted the PAF personnel throughout the inspection.

The collaborative initiative reinforces the shared commitment of SCSC and the Philippine Air Force to establish a safe, secure, and disciplined training environment for future student-cadets while advancing quality education, civic responsibility, and national service.
