𝐒𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝟓𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲

SURALLAH, South Cotabato — South Cotabato State College (SCSC) celebrated its 51st Founding Anniversary on June 30 with a day-long program highlighting gratitude, institutional milestones, recognition of pioneering leaders, and the inauguration of new campus facilities. Carrying the theme, “SUNAS to SCSC at 51: Honoring Our Legacy, Empowering Communities, Building a University for the Future,” the celebration gathered college officials, employees, students, alumni, retirees, partner pastors and church workers, local government officials, members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), and other invited guests.

The day’s activities began with a motorcade around Surallah and a tree-growing activity, followed by a thanksgiving service officiated by Rev. Eliseo C. Tillaman Jr. The formal program featured welcome remarks from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Joebert C. Legreso, a production number by SCSC student representatives, and the President’s Message delivered by Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes. Guests also viewed video presentations on the history of SUNAS-SCSC, the institution’s future direction, and congratulatory messages from partner agencies and stakeholders.

A highlight of the celebration was the recognition of pioneering key officials who contributed to the institution’s growth, namely former School Principal Mr. Julian P. Naanep, former Vocational School Superintendents Dr. Isidro H. Cambel Sr. and Dr. Venchito P. Galera, and the institution’s first president, Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes.

The program also included the presentation of the Loyalty Award to employees in recognition of their years of dedicated service. Following the morning program, SCSC conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for its Integrated Laboratory and the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the newly upgraded Main Gate and the Leadership Heritage Gallery, underscoring the college’s continuing investment in campus development.

The celebration concluded with a fellowship lunch and the opening of basketball and pickleball tournaments, promoting camaraderie among the SCSC community as the institution commemorated more than five decades of service in education and community development.
