The 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDevCom) students of South Cotabato State College conducted a local off-campus activity titled β€œCommunity Profiling of Sitio Kaong: Assessing Tap Water Use and Disease Incidence” on April 29, 2026 at Sitio Kaong, Little Baguio, Surallah, South Cotabato.

The activity was undertaken as a requirement for the subject Principles of Agriculture Extension and Communication. It was spearheaded by their professor, Ms. Lorelie S. Rallo, LPT, with the support of the program chairperson, Dr. Jaime Boy U. Ngag Jr. This initiative is also aligned with the extension services of South Cotabato State College through the Office of the Director for Extension Services, Mr. Niki Cordero, MagDev.

The activity aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to community-based research, data gathering, and extension work, with a particular focus on assessing water usage and related health concerns in the community. It reinforces the institution’s commitment to experiential learning and meaningful community engagement.
