South Cotabato State College is currently undergoing the AACCUP Preliminary Survey Visit for Accreditation from April 27 to 30, marking another significant step in the institutionโ€™s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

The accreditation process covers the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Program and the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program, with the goal of assessing the collegeโ€™s readiness and compliance with the standards set by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

Present during the opening program were Vice President for Academic Affairs Joebert Legreso, Quality Assurance Director Jett A. Javellana, EnP, MMEP, QA personnel Ardan P. Fusin, MALT, and Clayd Dofiles, along with the Area Focal Persons and faculty members involved in the preparation of the accreditation documents. Leading the institution is SUC President I Dr. Edward Lovell Brillantes, whose leadership continues to guide the college toward institutional development and academic advancement.

In the welcome message, the college recognized the dedication and hard work of the faculty and staff of both the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Program and the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program, as well as everyone who contributed to the extensive preparation of documents for the validation.

The institution also formally welcomed the distinguished validators from AACCUP. For the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Program, the assigned validator is Professor Julius Kelvin A. Nueda from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology. For the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program, the assigned validator is Professor Jo-anne Lynne Joy E. Duque from Tarlac Agricultural University.

The administration emphasized that the Preliminary Survey Visit is not merely about achieving a passing mark, but more importantly, about learning, growth, and continuous improvement. Whether the institution passes the validation or gains valuable recommendations for future preparations, the process remains an opportunity to strengthen academic programs and uphold educational standards.
