													The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XII, through the International Affairs Service (IAS), successfully conducted the i-RANK 2025: Advancing Global Competitiveness, a two-day coaching and mentoring program designed to enhance the global visibility and international ranking performance of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
This initiative gathered institutional leaders, educators, and internationalization focal persons to deepen their understanding of global ranking systems and develop strategic plans aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 
													South Cotabato State College Joins i-RANK 2025 Representing the provinceโs academic excellence, the South Cotabato State College (SCSC) actively joined the event through its Internationalization Committee members, who engaged in coaching and workshop sessions focused on benchmarking institutional performance, building international linkages, and developing IZN and global ranking strategies. Their participation reflects SCSCโs commitment to fostering a globally competitive academic environmentโone that values innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration in higher education.
Highlights of the Two-Day Program Day 1 featured comprehensive sessions on understanding international ranking frameworks and sustainability impact ratings, led by experts including Prof. Bryan Lloyd Bretaรฑa (University of Southern Mindanao), Dr. Rogen Doronila (Notre Dame of Dadiangas University), Mr. Jerson John Villegas (Central Mindanao Colleges), and Ms. Jobelle Marie Haberle (Green Valley College Foundation, Inc.). The discussions continued with Dr. Anderson Villa (MSUโGensan) and Mr. Christian Jay Fajartin (Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College) sharing insights on World University Rankings for Innovation. Coaching sessions followed in the afternoon, where HEIs, including SCSC, conducted performance reviews and gap identification toward strengthening their global competitiveness. Day 2 focused on developing Institutional IZN and Global Ranking Strategic Plans, facilitated by Ms. Ruthie V. Tejero (Southern Christian College) and Mr. Danstone Guy P. Dayaday (CHEDRO XII).
Participants crafted their institutional i-RANK Plans, identifying actionable roadmaps for international visibility. The event concluded with awarding ceremonies and closing remarks from Dr. Jerson S. Catoto of Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology, with Ms. Angelyn O. Haban serving as Master of Ceremony. Through i-RANK 2025, CHED Regional Office XII reaffirms its dedication to empowering HEIs in Region XIIโlike South Cotabato State Collegeโto take meaningful steps toward global recognition, collaboration, and academic excellence.
