𝐒𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥
SURALLAH, SOUTH COTABATO — South Cotabato State College (SCSC) conducted an Emergency Preparedness Symposium on September 7, 2026, aimed at strengthening the awareness and preparedness of students and personnel in responding to emergencies and potential threats.
The symposium was conducted in two sessions, catering separately to new and transferee students in the morning and continuing students in the afternoon, together with SCSC personnel.
In his message, Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes underscored the importance of conducting the symposium, especially amid recent incidents and emerging risks involving shooting incidents and natural disasters. He emphasized the need for the academic community to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and preparedness to respond appropriately during emergency situations.
The activity featured resource speakers from concerned emergency and law enforcement agencies, including PCpl. PJ Rufino Subiera, Investigator; Rex P. Belloga; PCpl. Raymundo Arberca Loreco of MCAD; PLtCol. Lemuel Josef J. Clarete; and PCpt. Ernesto R. Bautista Jr.
The resource persons shared essential information and insights on emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and appropriate responses during various emergency situations.
The symposium formed part of SCSC’s continuing efforts to promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and shared responsibility among members of the College community. Dr. Ronnie T. Galera introduced the resource speakers, while the activity was facilitated with the support of the SCSC administration and concerned personnel. The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Gerry J. Madriaga.
