𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐒𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

MANILA CITY – The South Cotabato State College (SCSC) participated in the 4th National Campus Journalism Convention 2026, held from March 6–8 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, to further strengthen development journalism initiatives under its Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BS DevCom) program.

The convention, themed “Investigative and Digital Journalism: Championing Human Rights and Democracy,” gathered campus journalists, educators, and communication practitioners from across the country to discuss emerging trends, ethical practices, and the evolving role of journalism in promoting democratic values and human rights in the digital age.

 

Representing SCSC was Dr. Jaime Boy U. Ngag Jr., Program Chairperson of the BS Development Communication program, who joined fellow journalism advocates and educators in the three-day learning engagement aimed at advancing campus and development journalism practices.

 

SCSC’s participation in this convention supports its commitment to enhancing students’ competencies in communication, particularly in producing responsible, community-centered journalism that addresses development concerns in South Cotabato and neighboring communities.

 

The participation of SCSC was made possible through the strong leadership and support of the college administration under Dr. Edward Lovell B. Brillantes, SUC President I, who continues to promote academic excellence and professional development initiatives for faculty and students.

 

Through its BS Development Communication program, SCSC remains committed to nurturing future communicators and journalists capable of producing impactful stories that contribute to community development and social transformation in South Cotabato and beyond.
