Metro Manila, Philippines – Through the initiative of House Senior Deputy Speaker, Representative Atty. Ferdinand L. Hernandez, the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education has approved House Bill 883, which seeks to convert South Cotabato State College into a full-fledged State University.

This approval marks a significant step toward providing higher-quality education in the province. Once enacted into law, the conversion will pave the way for broader academic programs, stronger research initiatives, modernized facilities, and increased opportunities for students, faculty, and the entire community.

With the bill now cleared by the Committee on Higher and Technical Education, efforts will continue in the plenary to achieve the long-held dream of establishing South Cotabatoโ€™s very own State University.
