World-Renowned Research Expert to Coach SCSC Faculty and Researchers on Proposal Writing and Publication Techniques

Surallah, South Cotabatao – South Cotabato State College (SCSC) is set to welcome a globally recognized researcher, Dr. Aristotle Ubando, who will conduct a mentoring session on research proposal writing and publication strategies for local researchers and faculty members on October 22, 2025.

Dr. Ubando, a Full Professor at De La Salle University-Manila and among the top 2% of researchers worldwide based on the Stanford University–Elsevier citation metrics, will share his expertise as part of the SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) mentoring series.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions to energy systems modeling, process optimization, computational fluid dynamics, and finite element analysis, Dr. Ubando has authored over 220 Scopus-indexed publications, earning an h-index of 33—a testament to the impact and global reach of his research.

The lecture series will also be conducted at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan, Cotabato, and at the Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) in Tacurong City. At SCSC, the mentoring session aims to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members, graduate students, and personnel from consortium member institutions.

Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, Director of SOXAARRDEC, said that the mentoring sessions are designed to increase the number and quality of research proposals, published scientific works, and completed graduate studies across the region’s member institutions.

Dr. Ubando’s session at SCSC underscores the College’s growing commitment to strengthening research and innovation, in line with the vision of building a globally competitive academic community that contributes to sustainable regional development.

SOXAARRDEC operates under the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) and continues to promote collaboration, innovation, and capacity-building among its 23 member institutions across the SOCCSKSARGEN region.
