SCSC Showcases IDIG-Funded Water Model Tank During CHED Monitoring Visit
South Cotabato, October 18, 2024 – The Commission on Higher Education – Office of Planning, Research, and Knowledge Management (CHED-OPRKM), led by Director Mary Sylvette Gunigundo, alongside CHEDRO XII Regional Director Dr. Nelia Alibin, conducted an impactful visit to South Cotabato State College (SCSC) to evaluate the progress of projects funded by the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG).
As a highlight of the visit, SCSC presented its state-of-the-art Water Model Tank, equipped with a Parshall Flume. This innovative apparatus is designed to facilitate controlled experiments, allowing students and researchers to gain critical insights into water management practices essential for sustainable agriculture. The Parshall Flume, an advanced tool for measuring water flow rates, provides precise data vital for research on irrigation, soil health, and efficient water use in farming.
With this facility, SCSC is enhancing its agricultural research and educational offerings, underscoring its commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural practices. The institution aims to leverage these resources to empower regional farmers, contributing to long-term agricultural and environmental resilience in South Cotabato.
